We are looking for a creative and energetic individual with exceptional customer service and leadership skills, who has knowledge of, and experience working with playschool children.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing opportunities for children ages 3-4 years to engage in play centered activities;
  • Facilitating social interaction opportunities for the children;
  • Role-modelling healthy interactions using evidence-based practices;
  • Providing information and resources to caregivers;
  • Planning playschool social/recreational activities that enhance children's developmental skills;
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work/play environment;
  • Implementing safety standards in children's activities and child monitoring;
  • Leading/assisting in emergency situations;
  • Organizing field trips for children;
  • Meeting/discussing children's progress with parents/guardians;
  • Providing quality customer service to external clients and internal staff.

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, patient and have a love of children. You will also possess:

  • An Early Childhood Diploma; Level 3 ECE - Level 2 minimum
  • Valid class 5 license with an acceptable driver's abstract;
  • Reliable vehicle to be used for work purposes (team meetings, etc.);
  • Experience working with groups of children;
  • Experience working with parent/caregivers;
  • CPR/First Aid with AED Certificate;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to use tact, diplomacy and mature judgment;
  • The ability to provide safe and effective child development activities while monitoring/supervising;
  • Good organizational and communication skills;
  • Satisfactory Criminal Records and Child Welfare background checks.

This is a Casual position, Monday and Wednesday's from 12-3pm, plus 8 hours of prep time per week from September 17 until June 2022.
